2. Supervision is an important part of managing a law enforcement agency.

1.Locate a secondary source on EBSCOHost published in the past year that will help you explore the problem you have raised in your Justification Report. (Use the “Cite” tool on the EBSCOHost Website to copy and paste the APA Reference information into your response so that your classmates and instructor can see the source.) Next, explain why you chose this source, and determine how it will help you to evaluate your alternatives (i.e. possible solutions offered) and arrive at a recommendation for your employer.

2. Supervision is an important part of managing a law enforcement agency. Chapter 8 of the course textbook covers several supervision models used to effectively manage police operations. Span of Control is one of the models examined and it refers to identifying the appropriate number of employees that can be managed by any one supervisor (p. 227).  Give your opinion regarding what is the appropriate span of control and explain your rationale.

3.In most cases, careers in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement exist, in some form of another at the Federal, State, and Local/County/City level and often in the private-sector.  This week, research your selected position on USAJobs.gov, USCourts.gov(federal) or your states employment management system, local municipalitys employment management system, and Indeed.com (private-sector), and discuss the similarities and differences (example: salary, jurisdiction, scope of work, required skill and education, and promotion potential).

4.Determine the fundamental difference between interrogating and interviewing under the circumstance of criminal investigation. Provide one (1) example of a situation or scenario when each of these would be used.

5. * From the e-Activity, and based on Figure 7.5 Linear Use-of-force Continuum in Chapter 7 of the textbook, support or critique the argument that a police officer should use an Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) and / or taser before the utilization of deadly force when making arrests. Provide a rationale to support your response.
